What Is A Relationship? - Part 4 (What Kind Of A Relationship Can We Have With The Godhead?

We can have a new relationship in Christ. We cannot have the same relationship with God like we had with the devil or might have with somebody else. Listen to your Bible! In 2 Corinthians 5:17, the Bible reads, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

We can have a loving relationship with Christ. Listen to your Bible! In John 13:34, the Bible reads, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.”

We can have a friendship with God & Christ. Listen to your Bible! In John 15:12-17, the Bible reads, “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you & appointed you that you should go & bear fruit & that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. These things I command you, so that you will love one another.” Also, in James 2:21-23, the Bible reads, “Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? You see that faith was active along with his works, & faith was completed by his works; & the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, & it was counted to him as righteousness”—& he was called a friend of God.” If we simply believe God & have faith in Him by doing His will, then, like Abraham, we too can have a friendship with Him.
